GARDEN LINE

Garden Line, with its established commitment to environmental respect and care by Medeot, has chosen robinia wood for its furniture. This is a naturally regenerating tree from northeastern Europe, imported from America in the 17th century, with logging and reforestation always being monitored—unlike exotic woods that are now endangered due to illegal logging.

Due to its innate characteristics of resistance to weather conditions, robinia is comparable to the best-known exotic woods, such as teak. To further enhance its already exceptional resistance qualities, Garden Line furniture is treated with a special drying and impregnation process using eco-friendly water-based protective products.
Medeot Garden Line products also resist up to level 5 (200,000 impacts - Contract level), at least 5 times more than the strict UNI 10977/2002 standards require. This is certified by Catas testing in 2005.

Each item designed by Medeot and its designers includes at least one detail made of curved solid wood. This makes every product unique and difficult to imitate, as a curved cut piece would break the wood grain and compromise the integrity and strength of the furniture.

The wood fibers that follow the curve radius are valued not only for their resistance but also for the optical perception of continuity in the grain, without joints or adhesives. The Garden Line collections are offered entirely in wood and in variants with seats and backs made of textilene (tight weave) and polypropylene (looser weave): innovative materials that structurally and aesthetically complement the warm color of robinia wood beautifully.

Defining Medeot Garden Line as an outdoor collection is limiting.
Thanks to the design and beauty of robinia wood,
these pieces fit remarkably well indoors or in open, protected areas.

The solid wood of garden furniture remains a living material and behaves as such over time. When exposed to rain, it can absorb moisture
and increase in volume, while under intense sunlight, it shrinks.

Ultraviolet rays alter the surface of solid robinia wood,
which naturally defends itself through a process that grays the outer surface:
this phenomenon occurs with all types of wood.
Our advice is not to leave these pieces outside for weeks without protection.
Umbrellas, gazebos, porches, etc., are great allies for our collection and help maintain all its qualities over time.

Maintenance Process

When our furniture becomes dull, it is advisable to clean it using a sponge soaked first in water and neutral detergent, and then rinsed with water only. After drying it with a clean cloth, wait about 24 hours before removing any possible white surface patina using fine-grit sandpaper. Finally, renew the wood protection as originally intended by applying the special water-based impregnating product provided with the maintenance kit onto the dry surface using a cloth or a brush.

Frequency

The frequency of maintenance depends on the surrounding environment: 2-3 times per season in the presence of salt air due to coastal areas or if the furniture is permanently exposed to the sun without shelter. In all other cases and usage environments, our experience recommends periodic maintenance each season.
